Welcome to the British Carbines website where we present books on British small arms from the 18th and 19th Centuries. The carbines and pistols illustrated in these books were manufactured to both Ordnance patterns and by Independent gunmakers for commercial sales. Where possible we have tried to provide detailed illustrations and comprehensive histories of manufacture, development of patterns and usage by army, navy, volunteers and other military and civilian forces.
